I recently purchased some fabric from “Sew Anonymous” an online fabric shop that I discovered via Instagram. I ordered some gorgeous space print cotton which is simply gorgeous, and I thought I would do a little shop review for the blog!
This shop is a fairly new, online only, store run by a lady called Aimee, and her husband George! She has been growing her lovely business after discovering her love of sewing and the amazing crafting and sewing community on Instagram. You can read about her story on the About page of her website.
The website is really easy to navigate, and a nice one to sit back and browse through. The images of the fabrics are clear, and you can sort by ‘What’s new” or by fabric type, which is my preferred option. There always seems to be a really good range of prints and styles, and there were so many I loved that it was hard to just choose one! Not only is there a good range of fabric, but sew anonymous also has a remnant section, haberdashery and sewing patterns! They do stock sewing threads as well, and whilst there isn’t an option to add matching thread on the page for the fabric itself the website suggests adding the closet match to your basket and then popping a note in the “additional comments” section requesting this and they will match up as best they can! A lovely touch.
I really like the price points of the fabrics they have in stock – the ones I have been browsing seem to range from £7 to £14 per meter. It is worth noting that you order by the FAT QUARTER, but this is clearly stated in multiple places so I don’t think you could miss this!
I’m really happy with my fabric choice, and this is a shop that I definitely want to continue to support in the future – the only difficulty will be not buying all the fabric at once!
